This sweet fruit dip recipe is the ideal appetizer to serve at any outing you may have this summer! It can be served at a backyard barbecue with fruit or at a more formal event with sugar cookies or Pirouettes. The best part—it takes less than 20 minutes to make. How can you resist such an easy fruit dip recipe?
Unlike cream cheese fruit dip recipes or yogurt fruit dip recipes, this one calls for sour cream, whipping cream and vanilla pudding. You can substitute yogurt if you want a slightly healthier fruit dip recipe.
- 3 oz. package of instant vanilla pudding mix
- 1 ½ cups of whole milk
- 1 can (6 oz.) of frozen orange juice concentrate
- 1/3 cup of sour cream
- 1 tbs. candied ginger (finely chopped)
- ¼ tsp. ground ginger
- ½ cup heavy whipping cream
- 2 tbs. powdered sugar
Combine the pudding mix, milk, and thawed orange juice concentrate in a bowl and mix well with an egg beater for 1 minute. Add in the sour cream and both types of ginger and stir. In another bowl, combine the cream and powdered sugar and beat until stiff peaks form. Once mixed, fold it into the ginger mixture. Pour the dip into a serving bowl and chill for several hours before serving.
