Frozen Pops for a Hot Summer Day
There is nothing better than a delicious frozen pop to cool you off on a hot and hazy summer day. These treats are perfect for a backyard barbecue, kid’s pool party, or just a lazy afternoon on your back porch. You can even create a special event around these cool, icy treats and host a popsicle party!
To host a posicle party for your kids and their friends, all you'll need is some popsicle recipes (see below), small plastic cups, and popsicle sticks. The popsicle party can be after a long day of camp or playing outdoors. Kids will love the homemade popsicles and can even help make them!
Here are a few delicious homemade popsicle recipes for you can try for the party:
Berry Popsicle Recipe
- 1/3 simple syrup (bring 2 parts sugar and 1 part water to a boil, stir until sugar dissolves)
- 1 cup strawberries, sliced
- 1 cup raspberries
- 1/4 fresh lemon juice
Orange Creamsicle Pop Ingredients
- 2 cups vanilla yogurt
- 1 can frozen orange juice concentrate
- 1 tsp. vanilla extract
Strawberry Lemonade Pop Ingredients:
- 1 can frozen lemonade concentrate
- Sliced strawberries
Chocolate Pudding Pop Ingredients:
- 2 cups chocolate milk
- 1 package (4 oz) instant chocolate pudding
- 1 tsp. vanilla extract
- Chocolate sprinkles
Choose which recipe you would like to make and mix the ingredients in a large bowl. (For recipes that call for whole pieces of fruit, combine in a blender.) Then pour equal amounts of the mixture into each cup and put them into your freezer. Once the liquid begins to solidify but is not yet completely frozen, stick a popsicle stick into the center of each cup so that they stand upright. Place the cups back into the freezer. Once they are frozen solid, just peel off the plastic cup and enjoy!
