Oscar-Worthy Appetizers for Your Red Carpet Party

Spinach and Artichoke Dip

  • 1 ½ cups chopped artichoke hearts
  • 1 cup chopped spinach
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • 8 oz cream cheese
  • 1 cup Parmesan cheese
  • ½ tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 cup mayonnaise
Mix all ingredients together in a large bowl and and pour into a greased casserole dish. Bake at 350 degrees for 20-30 minutes. Serve this Oscar party food with bagel chips, crackers, tortilla chips, salsa, and cut-up vegetables.

Baked Cranberry Brie

  • 4 sheets phyllo pastry
  • 1 round (8 oz) of brie cheese
  • 3 tbs cranberry sauce
  • ¼ cup melted butter
Brush the top of each sheet of pastry with the melted butter and layer the pastry sheets on top of each other. Place the brie in the middle of the pastry and coat it with cranberry sauce. Twist the edges of the pastry around to enclose the brie in the pastry and brush with the remaining butter. Bake for 20 minutes at 400 degrees or until the crust is nicely browned. Let it sit for 20 minutes before serving.


Shrimp Kabobs

  • 3 tbs olive oil
  • 3 crushed garlic cloves
  • ½ cup dry bread crumbs
  • ½ tsp seafood seasoning
  • 1 lb uncooked, medium sized shrimp
  • Seafood cocktail sauce
Combine the oil and garlic in a large bowl and let sit for 30 minutes. Dip the shrimp in the oil mixture and coat with bread crumbs and seafood seasoning. Thread shrimp onto skewers and grill over medium heat covered for 2-3 minutes. Serve with seafood sauce.
